Playroom Reveal

It’s finished!

Finally, after months of talking about my plan we have completed the playroom! We decided to take our loft toy area and move it to our unfinished basement because… boys! We quickly ran out of space and needed a place for them to be able to run and play during the long winter days!

We had to drywall the space and spray paint the ceiling before we could even think about a design.

I knew I wanted a mural, artwork, or some sort of design to give the playroom its “spot” in our huge basement. I toyed with the ideas of an outline of a house or a scallop half wall but after long nights of insomnia (seriously I can’t sleep these days 🙄) I realized that these would ideas wouldn’t fully capture the look I was going for.

So I decided with blowing up the scallop look and doing three large bubble scallops! I started by putting up the cube shelving so I could get the measurements for the height and width I needed.

I then tied a string to a pencil and taped the other end to the floor trim and created three large half circles. Once painted, they merged into one large piece! The paint color I used was

I didn’t want to take away from the bubbles but I wanted some statement piece above it. That’s when I stubbled upon these letter ledges! I love that I can change it with the season and that it is large without taking away from the rest of the wall!

I added some other shelving from ikea, H&M, and home goods to further square off the space!

I went with a bold but neutral rug. This Moroccan rug is a 9×13 and I’m so glad I didn’t go any smaller!

I got the boys a pikler triangle, ramp, and arch from Smart Wood Store and the perfect little play table from GuideCraft!

The cube storage was from IKEA and the baskets are the perfect neutral storage from Target!

I am so happy for how the space has turned out and I can’t wait for all the memories my boys will make! You can shop our room below and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

XOXO,

Karlene
