Welp! Its definitely been a long time coming but my nursery is about as finished as its going to be! (Links at the bottom)
Designing a nursery is one of my favorite things!! When I was pregnant two years ago I really wanted to do this statement wall but decided to spare my husband. Not this time! I decided to go for it and I am SO happy I did! I am obsessed with it!
It is a shiplap herringbone wall. We used Ship lap to get the lines but had to use spacers to create the angled lines for the real effect to come through. Getting the angles correct was the real struggle but the hubs did it and I am in love!!
I loved Asher’s crib. It was a steal off of Wayfair and has such beautiful detail! Not to mention it is super sturdy and well made. I hated taking it away from Asher but since it did not transition into a toddler bed, we decided to buy him a new crib that will eventually transition and move this crib into the nursery.
I couldn’t find a crib skirt to match my vision so my mother and I came up with a plan! We purchased a macrame banner off of Amazon (woo prime!) and a plain beige, ruffled crib skirt. Then we just sewed the banner around the skirt! It was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Heres the link for the banner if you’re interested!
When I started designing my nursery, I began with just choosing things that I was attracted to. I never start out with a theme or idea, I just let the room come together and as I find the decor, I create an overall design!
My first piece of decor was this sign above the crib. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it! It reads, “Let me love you a little longer before you’re not little anymore”. I snagged it at Home Goods! I started looking for other browns and beiges to incorporate into the very white, neutral design. I was drawn to macrame when I found this ceiling light at Pier 1.
The chandelier was less glamorous and more bohemian which started pulling the design into the more textural side. I started looking for other macrame and soft fabrics. I found these macrame curtains also at pier 1 and this wall piece to the left of the window was a beaded macrame I had previously purchased for Asher’s nursery.
I have always been into neutrals, but something about this room gives me all the feels!
I found this rug at Wayfair. It is 5x7 and the perfect piece to break up the brown of the carpet and bring a softer feel to the room. The best part? It was close to $100 so I felt for the size it was definitely worth the price to really pull the room together!
Ive never been one to put a rug on a carpet, but I LOVE it!!
A lot of my stuff is purchased from resale shops. I was over the moon when I found this French provincial dresser set off of Facebook Marketplace. I got a four piece set for $75! With a little bit of paint and refinishing the knobs, the furniture is a brand new set!
I chose to use the stand up dresser and the mirror dresser for the nursery. I left off the mirror until the baby is bigger.
The purchase also came with a matching desk and nightstand that my little guy will be able to use with time as he gets older!
The best part about repurposed furniture? The cheap price means no worries when your child inevitably destroys them, HA!
All of the wall hangings above the dresser are from Hobby Lobby. The frames are from Home Goods. I found the silver dish at a yard sale. My favorite piece is this basket changing pad! I snagged it off of Amazon (Link attached) and with a registry discount it came down to a decent price. The only issue is the pad is a little small and finding a sheet for it may be difficult. I used a Halo Bassinet sheet which was a little bit large still but I tucked the edges in.
I knew I needed a little reading nook because my first son LOVES to read.
These shelves are from IKEA and they are sturdy and hold a surprising amount of books. I also like that I can keep my favorite books up top on display and not have to worry about the kiddos destroying them!
My glider is from Delta Children. Its on the smaller size which is exactly what I wanted and moves in a full circle so I can reach the books and the small table.
The pouf/ottoman was from Home Goods, along with the macrame book holder.
Once I put the room together I realized the left side of the crib was lacking. I didn't want to put any shelves or overpowering decor but I needed something full length and something from the ceiling to off balance the right side.
This mirror was the perfect color and angles and I found it at Home Goods.
The Macrame planters are from Amazon and IKEA.
Pillow and stuffed animal were from Home Goods.
Antique rocking horse was found at a resale shop!
I am so excited for how the room came together and now that my little Avery is here I will add things to make it his own.
If I missed anything feel free to message me and I will happily let you know where I picked it up from!
Happy designing!!

Karlene
