I am sure all of us mamas-to-be can agree that one of the hardest things about being pregnant (besides the aches, pains, hormones, lack of sleep, ok there’s a lot of things) is watching as your clothes slowly stop fitting your ever growing body. Your favorite jeans start making you look more chunky then pregnant, and eventually you can’t even find a pair of workout leggings to make it through a gym session.
Add on top of it all, that maternity clothing stores have insane prices and overly matronly clothes and it can be one of the most depressing parts of pregnancy.
This time around, I vowed to be comfortable and feel good about what I was wearing.
I had briefly had a run in with the online retailer, PinkBlush Maternity towards the end of my first pregnancy. I found that their clothes were #1 stylish and #2 affordable:WIN!! So when the time came this time around, they were the first place I turned to.
Around 24 weeks I was in desperate need of a dress for a wedding. It was going to be a beautiful wedding on the water and the first time away from my baby boy. I new I would need something that could handle the daytime heat and the breeze off of the water. This dress brought it all:
This dress was the most buttery soft material, flattering, and absolutely beautiful. It had a slight mermaid shape to it, coming in right at the knees and a slight train to add a drastic look.
It was the perfect mix of breathable and it blocked that cool wind off the water. The dress has a liner to protect you from the ever dreaded cellulite booty and it comes in so many colors! Perfect for an elegant night out or a beautiful maternity photo session.
For my first pregnancy, I purchased multiple dresses in a last minute rush to find the perfect shower dress. They not only arrived within days, but they all were the perfect fit and so comfortable. Even better? Since I ordered a bunch and then decided on a dress, I was able to conveniently and quickly return the unused dresses hassle free! A huge plus when it comes to online shopping!
Around this time (25 weeks) the weather started to change and I soon started struggling with needing some staple fall/winter wear.
Jeans are hard enough shopping for when I am not pregnant, so I thought finding a pair during pregnancy would be IMPOSSIBLE! After checking out their site and doing a quick and easy hip measurement, I ordered these slightly distressed darker skinny jeans.
For starters, and probably the most impressive part for me, was that I have NEVER ordered jeans online from anywhere. Pregnant or not pregnant. The fact that these jeans arrived the perfect fit was enough to sell me for a lifetime. For reference I am wearing a size 27 and I am 5″0 and around 115-120 pre-preggo weight. These jeans are snug enough to get a little sucking in, if you know what I mean, but with enough elasticity for breathable comfort. They have a full belly band which is a major MUST for me these days but they also offer jeans with the side elastic if that is your preference!
I love that they have all the working normal pockets that you see with a typical pair of jeans. The color is the perfect color for fall and winter, with just enough distress. The best part? You can’t tell at all that they are maternity jeans whatsoever!
They can be dressed up or down and for those shorties like me, no hemming job needed! So feel free to throw on a pair of heels or tuck them in some boots! A must have staple piece for your pregnancy!
Being a personal trainer and gym owner, you all know I live in leggings. So when the normal go-tos start to get snug I could cry! One of my biggest recommendations for those active moms to be, invest in some maternity leggings!
