Homemade Taco/Fajita Seasoning

This family is OBSESSED with taco seasoning.

We use it on everything and it can make any ground turkey taste just like some full-fat beef 😛

But the thought of a packaged seasoning makes me cringe. Not only is it ridciulously expensive, but there is also added sugar, milk (!?!), and citric acid. On top of that the sodium levels are through the roof.

I knew with the amount of seasoning I like to use, I couldn’t fathom putting that stuff into my family’s food.

So I created my own and even my taco packet loving husband can’t notice the difference.

The Best Homemade Taco Seasoning

2/3 Cup Dark Chili Powder
1/3 Cup Cumin
3 Tbsp Black Pepper
2 Tbsp Pink Salt
1.5 Tbsp Paprika
1.5 Tbsp Dried Oregano
2 Tsp Garlic Powder
2 Tsp Onion Powder

Just combine all ingredients in a bowl and pour into a container! The recipe makes about 7-8 ounces and is good for up to a year or more (but I go through mine in a month or two).

If you read my 5 Toddler Meals In Under 5 Minutes then this is the seasoning I mention using on all of my little guys’ food!

Enjoy 😉

Feel free to message me if you have any questions!

XO, Karlene
